Model-Based Systems Engineering/Conceptual Design
A leading U.S. military vehicle manufacturer, uses Comet to automate vehicle dynamics performance calculations that integrate design data from ProEngineer CAD and Excel spreadsheets into an internal MATLAB-based code and then into MSC ADAMS to rapidly evaluate alternative vehicle design concepts from the early conceptual design phase of a new program. The Comet-based process reduces simulation iteration time from several weeks for the traditional manual process to a matter of hours with the automated process. Their ultimate objective is “to change analysis from a reactive process occurring late in development, to a proactive process used early and throughout design.”
